Audiophiles and iPod users can rejoice. It’s not news that Angie Hart has made a few appearances on the American iTunes store. But much of what was there before has since been upgraded to the new iTunes Plus format, and that sounds like news to me!
iTunes Plus offers songs as … DRM-free music tracks featuring high quality 256 kbps AAC encoding for audio quality virtually indistinguishable from the original recordings.
Those sitting on a pile of 128kbps MP3s may want to have a look. Amongst the iTunes Plus, Angie Hart related offerings are:

Angie covers The Cure’s “Pictures of You” for a new Transport Accident Commission (TAC) campaign charging drivers to be more responsible on the roads and to watch their speed.
Of the project, Angie says, “have your tissues ready, it is an incredibly moving piece of footage and i feel privileged to be a part of it.
“i am singing a cover of the cure’s, ‘pictures of you’. we will be releasing a full version of this song, in the coming weeks. stay tuned.”

Angie will be appearing on The Morning show on Channel 7 tomorrow,
Monday February 18th.
She’ll appear a couple of times and be talking about her upcoming tour, performing from the new album and also a Frente track she hasn’t chosen to perform in, well, quite a while now.

Thanks to the efforts of the Frente fan-base, iHartAngie happily presents Frente, recorded live in concert at San Diego State University, June 12, 1994.
Special thanks to Alex Kim for providing the files, and to Robert for processing them into MP3s and cleaning out the radio adverts. The files are posted in 256kbps quality, and you’ll find them in the Multimedia section of the site.

The last twelve months have witnessed a significant change of gears for Angie Hart.
After a relatively quietly decade based in Los Angeles, Angie (yes, she of Frente fame, member of Splendid, guest of Holidays on Ice) returned to her hometown of Melbourne at the end of 2005 to begin work in earnest on her first solo longplayer, ‘Grounded Bird’.
Produced by Justyn Pilbrow, ‘Grounded Bird’ exceeded expectations in its breadth of musical scope and ambition. Rather than re-tread her musical steps, Angie sought pastures new, writing with a swag of very highly regarded collaborators (Ben Lee, Craig Ross, Dean Manning and Dan Luscombe amongst others) and tackling issues of struggle, change and transformation within the challenging confines of the pop song.
